If you already have high-speed internet in your business it is easy to set up a wireless network. The common word we all use is WiFI, which allows you to connect your smartphone, tablet, laptop, and smart devices to your business without an ethernet cable.
Step 1: Purchasing a #Wireless Router
In order to have WiFi, a wireless router will need to be used. This device will provide the WiFi signal from your internet modem throughout your business. Most of the time your Internet service provider (ISP) will offer their customers a wireless router for a small monthly fee. Which may be the easiest option, if you have never set up a network before. There are many routers out there to purchase, so we do recommend spending some time researching different options.
Step 2: Connect the #Cables
Once a decision has been made about the wireless router, you'll or your K&B technician will need to connect your existing internet modem.
Connect an Ethernet cable from your modem to the wireless router, most of the time an ethernet cable will be included with your wireless router.
Plugin the power cable for the wireless router
Give it at least 30 to 60 seconds, to make sure that your router is configured correctly by looking at the lights displayed.
Configure your routers default settings, this includes setting a name and password for your wireless network.
That is it! You are now ready to connect to your Wi-Fi network and ensure it works.
The connection process to a Wi-Fi network will vary slightly depending on what type
of computer or device, you are using but any system will require these basic steps.
Locate network settings on your computer, and look for nearby Wi-Fi networks. Choose your network, then enter your password.
If the connection succeeds, open your web browser and try to navigate to a web page such as www.google.com. If the page loads, this means your Wi-Fi connection is functioning properly. Congratulations.
You've just set up your own business wireless network. Way to go!
