When you start service with a new carrier, telephone companies are required by law to port your number out. According to the FCC, even if you have an outstanding balance or unpaid termination fees, a company can not refuse to port your number.

You are allowed to change or port your phone number once every 30 days.

What is a Letter of Authorization (LOA)?

Letter of Authorization is known as the letter of an agency which is a form a customer must sign before they can port a number. Which is a request for relevant information from the customer’s current provider? This way that the information that is being ported, the provider knows the information is correct.
